FAQs
How do I register to fundraise for the ASRC?
We love all types of fundraising at the ASRC! You can view all the fundraising activities you can get involved in and register here. The ASRC is required to be accountable for your activity and registering also enables us to provide support.
How can I support the ASRC?
There are a number of great ways you can support the ASRC from hosting your own event to organising donations in lieu of gifts for a celebration or taking part in our annual Feast for Freedom. Take a look at all the things you can get involved in here!
Can I fundraise every now and then when I have the time?
Yes! And each time you plan on raising funds just make the ASRC aware of your activity by registering here.
I want to give the ASRC a % of a product that I sell. Can I do this?
Yes, we have many companies that give a % or specific amount from an item they sell. Please register your plans here and we will be in touch.
Can I choose where the money raised goes?
Your donations are vital - they ensure that the ASRC’s programs can continue to provide safety and sanctuary to those who need it most, in a practical way that drives real impact and long-term change. Monies raised from fundraising activities support where help is most urgently needed - this could be anything from our foodbank, housing, casework, legal or health programs. Unfortunately, we cannot allocate funds to a particular program or area.
What should I tell people donating or participating in my fundraiser?
The ASRC should be named as the beneficiary e.g proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the ASRC. Where possible you should indicate the % or amount per ticket or item for sale that you intend the ASRC to receive. This should be visible on any of your promotion.
Will you provide a letter endorsing my fundraiser?
Yes, if you have registered to fundraise we can provide you with a letter. Contact events@asrc.org.au with any queries
Can I use the ASRC logo?
Yes! You can download special community fundraising versions of the ASRC logo here to use on your social media, posters and other promotional materials.
Will the ASRC promote my event?
Where possible and when time permits the ASRC may promote events that are open to the public on its social media. Please register your fundraiser and email details of your Facebook event, a ticket link etc. as soon as it becomes available to events@asrc.org.au . Note: please do not rely on this as your only source of promotion.
Will the ASRC reimburse me for costs involved in organising my fundraiser?
Anyone that is organising a fundraiser for the ASRC should not be out of pocket and you are expected to reimburse yourself any fair and reasonable expenses associated with organising your activity. Please reimburse yourself any costs before making your final donation to the ASRC. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse costs once you have made your donation.
Can the ASRC help me organise my fundraiser and supply volunteers?
While we can guide you to make your fundraiser a success there are some things you will need to do yourself. You will need to manage ticket sales, event logistics, finances and promotion. However, don't feel as though you're going it alone. You will be surprised how keen family and friends are to help!
Do you have fundraising materials?
Yes! We have a range of practical resources that you may wish to use to promote or display at your fundraiser. You can view and download them from our Resources page.
Can a speaker attend my event?
You can book a speaker with lived experience to talk at your event. Bookings can be made here
How do I transfer funds to the ASRC?
Funds raised can be deposited on your fundraising page. If you would prefer to make a bank deposit please contact events@asrc.org.au for our bank details.
Will supporters of my fundraiser get a tax deductible receipt?
When someone donates to your fundraising page they will receive a receipt automatically by email. If someone has purchased a ticket/paid entry to your event, bought a raffle ticket or something at an exhibition/auction/stall or online this is not classed as a tax deductible donation and we do not provide receipts.
Can my group come and visit the ASRC?
We can arrange for a group (max 12 people) to visit ASRC and learn about our key programs if they have fundraised/held a food drive or are interested in doing so.
What if I have questions not answered here?
We’re here to help! Please email our Community and Events Coordinator on events@asrc.org.au who will be only too happy to chat about your ideas or plans.
